In Hà Nội, the 14th Party Central Committee of Vietnam has commenced its third meeting, guided by the leadership of Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm. This five-day session is set to concentrate on the implementation of resolutions from the 14th National Party Congress, with a focus on enhancing Party governance, reforming the political system, and expediting national development initiatives.
The committee is evaluating 13 significant policy areas, with topics ranging from improvements in State governance and land law reforms to economic restructuring and technology-driven growth. Environmental protection and national security are also high on the agenda. Additional discussions will address the performance of the new political system, particularly the two-tier local administration model, and consider proposals for establishing the regions of Quảng Ninh and Bắc Ninh as cities directly governed by the central government.
Tô Lâm has urged the committee to make pragmatic, action-focused decisions that can eliminate obstacles to development, unleash national resources, and enhance public services. He stressed the importance of swiftly converting all resolutions into concrete implementation plans. These plans must include clear responsibilities, definitive timelines, and measurable outcomes to ensure effective execution.
