The diplomatic bond between Vietnam and Qatar continues to flourish, highlighted by the recent celebration of Vietnam’s National Day in Doha. This event underscored the growing cooperation between the two nations, with a focus on peace, dialogue, and international collaboration.
Marking the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, the celebration attracted senior Qatari officials, diplomats, and business leaders. Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep praised the strengthening of ties between the two countries, emphasizing Vietnam’s development and its expanding international relationships.
Vietnam and Qatar have been diplomatic partners since 1993, with a broadening scope of cooperation that now includes sectors such as trade, investment, energy, labor, aviation, and telecommunications, among others. This evolving partnership has seen significant economic engagement, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $423 million in 2025, indicative of the robust business exchanges and investment prospects between the two countries.
High-level exchanges have been a hallmark of this relationship, highlighted by the visit of Qatar’s prime minister to Vietnam in October 2024. Both nations have expressed a shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for economic collaboration.
