In an effort to bolster economic ties, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, held discussions with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, at the chamber’s headquarters in Lusail. The meeting concentrated on fostering collaboration between private enterprises of Qatar and Vietnam, with a keen interest in identifying new investment prospects and key sectors ripe for future collaboration.

Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to nurturing robust partnerships and facilitating joint investment projects between the business communities of both nations. He acknowledged Vietnam’s impressive economic growth, underscoring the potential for fruitful economic exchanges. Meanwhile, Ambassador Hiep highlighted Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic ties with Qatar, pointing out that bilateral trade had surpassed $860 million in 2024, an increase of $100 million from the previous year.

The ambassador underscored the promising opportunities for Qatari investors in Vietnam, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and halal products. He emphasized the significance of Qatar Chamber in introducing Vietnamese agricultural and halal products to the Qatari market, thereby enhancing trade relations. The focus on these sectors is seen as strategically beneficial, given the growing demand for such products in Qatar.

Additionally, Ambassador Hiep extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026. Scheduled for next September in Ho Chi Minh City, the annual exhibition is a significant global trade event. It centers on sourcing, exports, and supply chain partnerships, drawing international firms and industry leaders from a range of sectors such as food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
