Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng of Vietnam has concluded a significant three-day visit to Russia, returning to Hanoi after engaging in discussions to bolster bilateral ties and attending the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit. This event celebrated 35 years of diplomatic relations between ASEAN and Russia, underscoring the importance of cooperation between these regions.
While in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Prime Minister Hưng participated in key summit sessions and business forums, which were central to the visit’s agenda. His schedule included meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as regional leaders. These interactions were pivotal in exploring avenues for cooperation in various sectors such as investment, energy, trade, technology, and industrial development.
The Vietnamese delegation took the opportunity to engage with prominent Russian organizations and businesses, an effort that was marked by the signing of multiple cooperation agreements. Among the significant developments was the launch of new direct flight routes that will connect Vietnam and Russia, a move expected to enhance connectivity and economic exchanges between the two nations.
This visit underscored Vietnam’s commitment to reinforcing the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership and advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia. Both sides reached agreements on various measures aimed at deepening cooperation and delivering more concrete outcomes across critical sectors, which they believe will support long-term economic growth and bilateral development.
